The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association was formed with the objective of augmentation of game of Cricket in the state of Himachal in the year 1960. However the Association was granted affiliation by the BCCI at a meeting held on 29th Sept 1984 at Taj Palace, New Delhi.Till the year 2000 the Association was considered to be minnows of Indian Cricket it was only in July 2000 that the present set up headed by Mr Anurag Thakur took over the reins of HPCA and the Association caught the eye of many.

About HPCA
The Himachal Pradesh Cricket Association (HPCA) was established in 1960 to promote the game of Cricket in the state. After being granted affiliation by the BCCI in 1984, the association underwent a renaissance under Mr. Anurag Thakur's leadership starting in July 2000.
The HPCA embarked on a mission to enhance infrastructure and opportunities for Himachal cricket, culminating in the construction of a state-of-the-art stadium in Dharamshala with a seating capacity of 25,000 and modern facilities. In addition to the iconic Dharamshala Cricket Stadium, the HPCA has constructed two more stadiums in Nadaun and Bilaspur. The association has hosted prestigious matches and tournaments, attracting international teams and players.
