Hpw-Dierdorf

HPW Dierdorf is a residential child and youth welfare organization based in Dierdorf, in the Westerwald region of Germany. Its three decentralized group homes provide care for up to eight children and young people each. The organization has worked with a solution-focused approach for 25 years, supporting young people to identify their own goals, build on their strengths and take steps toward positive change. Its staff aim to foster development through an accepting, respectful environment and see each young person as the leading participant in their individual journey.

Everyday educational and therapeutic work is complemented by the organization’s horses and donkeys, which are an integral part of its concept. HPW also incorporates experiential, sensory-focused and solution-oriented activities. Its services include therapeutic riding, climbing, special education approaches and solution-focused counselling. The organization supports staff development through training, supervision and workshops.
