About Dayton Humane
Since 1902, the Humane Society of Greater Dayton has been a trusted voice for animals and the people who care about them. As the oldest and most established animal welfare organization in the Miami Valley, we provide lifesaving care and protection for all types of animals—from dogs and cats to rabbits, farm animals, birds, exotics, and more.
As a no-kill organization, we are committed to giving every animal the chance to live a safe, healthy, and loved life. We are also the only organization in Montgomery County with sworn humane society agents investigating cruelty and neglect involving all species of animals.
Everything we do is made possible by local support. We receive no government funding and operate entirely through donations, grants, and community partnerships. Despite our name, we are independent from all national animal welfare organizations, meaning every dollar raised stays right here in the Miami Valley to help local animals.
