Historická společnost Starý Velehrad is a Czech regional history association whose roots date to 1881 and the original Starý Velehrad Archaeological Society. It brings together historians, archaeologists, writers, researchers and enthusiasts to study, document and share knowledge about the history and cultural heritage of Velehrad, the Chřiby highlands and the Slovácko region. Its work spans historical, archaeological, geographical, ethnographic and cultural topics, with a particular focus on preserving the region’s collective memory and landscape heritage.

The society publishes the regional heritage journal Krajem Veligradu, continuing a tradition that began in the late nineteenth century and was revived in its current form in 2017. It also produces other local-history publications and editorial work. For members and the wider public, the association organizes lectures, guided excursions, field trips, visits to historic sites, seminars and informal gatherings. Members study archival documents, manuscripts, chronicles and maps, and collaborate with museums, municipalities, schools and specialist institutions on research, educational activities and heritage protection.
