Hub 21

Hub 21, formerly known as The Down Syndrome Centre North East, is a registered charity supporting children and young people with Down syndrome across Cavan, Monaghan, Louth and Meath. Based in Carrickmacross, the organisation works with families and the associated professional community throughout the North East of Ireland. Its mission is to help young people reach their potential and lead independent, fulfilling and self-determined lives through access to practical support, care and information.

Hub 21 offers occupational therapy, speech and language therapy, and music therapy, alongside early intervention and school-aged groups. Its programme also includes social activities and events for children and young people with Down syndrome and their siblings, as well as training and information for families and professionals. A dedicated team supports each child’s individual development and wellbeing.

The charity shares resources and updates through its website, newsletter, library and news articles, and organises events that bring the community together. Families and supporters can get involved, contact the team or donate to help sustain its services.
