O Hub Azul Leixões - Polo I (HAL) é uma infraestrutura científica, tecnológica e de inovação vocacionada para o desenvolvimento da economia azul. Reúne, através do envolvimento das entidades consorciadas, um conjunto de capacidades nas áreas das engenharias oceânicas e da biotecnologia azul, cuja ampliação e partilha potencia o desenvolvimento de sinergias relevantes, fundamentais para os processos de inovação na área do mar. O Hub Azul Leixões é um dos oito polos que integra a rede Hub Azul Portugal, projeto financiado com fundos públicos do PRR – Plano de Recuperação e Resiliência.

About Hub Azul Leixões
Hub Azul Leixões is a brand dedicated to technological empowerment and development for the blue economy. The Hub Azul Leixões (HAL) initiative, led by organizations such as INESC TEC, aims to address the need for relevant test areas for oceanic technology development in Portugal. Situated in a port area, the HAL will drive the advancement of technologies for a more sustainable blue economy amidst climate and digital transitions.
The consortium behind HAL has set milestones for the project, with the inauguration scheduled for the fourth quarter of 2025. Additionally, the Biobanco Azul do Norte, a scientific structure within the Hub Azul Leixões, will further support research and innovation. With a focus on fostering innovation and sustainability, Hub Azul Leixões is at the forefront of promoting technology for a thriving blue economy
