Helsinki Urological Cancer Center (HUCC) is a Finnish research and clinical center focused on urological cancers. Its work brings together clinical and academic expertise at HUS Helsinki University Hospital and the University of Helsinki. The center’s urology department is Finland’s largest, serving a catchment area of approximately 1.5 million people with a team of 25 staff members.

HUCC is a tertiary referral center for centralized surgery, including cystectomy, prostatectomy, urethroplasty and retroperitoneal lymph node dissection. It also provides primary diagnostics, treatment and follow-up for urological cancers across the greater Helsinki area. Its research covers prostate, kidney, bladder, testicular and penile cancers, with groups conducting retrospective and prospective studies and clinical trials. Researchers collaborate with local, national and international specialists on clinical, translational and preclinical projects. The center’s resources include clinical research coordination and laboratory support, helping connect clinicians, researchers and patients. HUCC also shares research news, publications and information about its people, projects and facilities, and invites the public to support its work.
