About HUGEO
HuGeo is a Hungarian earth sciences portal serving as a digital information and resource hub for the Geological Survey and the National Mining Authority. Its website brings together geological, geophysical, mining and water-related data, alongside educational and cultural materials for researchers, professionals and the public. Visitors can explore databases and collections covering geophysical records, rock samples and hydrogeological information, use a digital map server and GeoBank, and consult specialist information systems and registries.
The portal also presents Geopalota, a project documenting the development of a geological exhibition, and features collections dedicated to Eötvös Loránd and Hungarian geology. Its publications, specialist library and map collection provide further reference resources, including the Geologica Hungarica series. HuGeo shares institutional news and information about events, lectures and services, and connects users with geological and geophysical professional associations, mining organisations and geoparks.
Online catalogues and searchable collection databases support research and discovery. Overall, the portal makes Hungary’s earth science information, heritage and related public resources accessible through one website
