About Hull Museums
Hull Museums and Gallery brings together a collection of museums, historic sites and an art gallery in Hull, offering visitors an accessible way to explore the city’s art, history and maritime heritage. Entry to all its sites is free, and the venues are within walking distance of one another, making it easy to plan a day of discovery.
Visitors can see medieval-to-modern artworks at Ferens Art Gallery, explore transport history at the Streetlife Museum, and encounter archaeology, including mammoths and mosaics, at the Hull and East Riding Museum of Archaeology. Wilberforce House examines the struggle against slavery, while Hands on History explores Hull’s story and features an Egyptian mummy. The Hull Maritime Museum presents more than 800 years of nautical history, and visitors can discover seafaring heritage aboard the restored Spurn Lightship. The Arctic Corsair and North End Shipyard offer further maritime experiences; the Arctic Corsair is currently closed for restoration.
