About Humane Society of North Central Florida
The Humane Society of North Central Florida is the leading resource for pets and pet owners in our community. Our mission is to prevent the unnecessary euthanasia of healthy and treatable pets in North Central Florida. Formerly known as the Alachua County Humane Society, Gainesville Pet Rescue, and Helping Hands Pet Rescue, we united in 2018 to streamline services for pets and their loving human companions.
With over 40 years of experience, our organization is dedicated to ensuring that every healthy or treatable companion animal in our region finds a caring, forever home. We offer a range of services, such as adoption, fostering, and spaying/neutering, to support pets and their owners. Additionally, we provide a Vaccination & Wellness Clinic, a Pet Food Bank, and two Thrift Stores to further assist the community.
We rely on the generosity of dedicated volunteers, donors, and thrift store shoppers to fulfill our mission and make a positive impact on the lives of homeless pets. Connect with us to learn more about our initiatives and become a part of the Humane Society of North Central Florida family
