About Humanists UK
Humanists UK is a prominent charity dedicated to advancing humanist values, human rights, and equality, while providing vital services to support the non-religious community in leading fulfilling lives. Its origins trace back to two influential foundations: the Rationalist Press Association established in 1885, and the Union of Ethical Societies founded in 1896. Humanists UK champions a wide range of causes including freedom of thought, equality in education, and rights for women, children, and the LGBTQ+ community.
The charity offers diverse services, such as humanist ceremonies for weddings, funerals, and naming events, tailored to meet the needs of non-religious individuals. Its innovative programs also encompass educational initiatives, pastoral support in various institutions, and a growing network of accredited celebrants. With a commitment to promoting ethical living and community support, Humanists UK has evolved into a significant voice for the non-religious in society and actively engages in campaigns that champion social justice and human rights for all
