The Human Rights Legal Project is a small but powerful organization dedicated to challenging the power of big institutions. We are completely independent of any government, political ideology, economic interest, or religion, which allows us to maintain our integrity and adhere to our principles and values. Our vision is to establish a safe and dignified migration and asylum system in the European Union that respects the human rights of all individuals.

At the Human Rights Legal Project, we have a team of passionate and dedicated professionals, including human rights lawyers, advocates, and community activists. Our office is located in Vathy, Samos, and our board members support us remotely from different international locations.

Our journey began in 2020 when overcrowding in the Reception and Identification Centre on Samos reached unprecedented levels, causing a tense environment and numerous human rights violations. In order to challenge the impunity and seek justice for the displaced community, we founded the Human Rights Legal Project. Since then, we have been tirelessly working to ensure that people on the move are treated with fairness and dignity, while holding authorities accountable to their national and international human rights obligations.
