Human Biology Association & Amer J Hum Biol

The Human Biology Association (HBA) is a nonprofit, 501(c)(3) organization dedicated to advancing research and education on human biological variation in its evolutionary, social, historical, and environmental contexts. It brings together a diverse, interdisciplinary community of scientists and scholars, including specialists in anthropology, anatomy, public health, endocrinology, genetics, and nutrition. Through collaboration and knowledge-sharing, the Association supports a fuller understanding of human biology and promotes inclusive, evidence-based approaches to research, education, and practice.

HBA offers flexible membership opportunities for people across disciplines, career stages, identities, and lived experiences. International members affiliated with low-resourced institutions may qualify for discounted or free membership. The Association organizes annual meetings, provides opportunities to present research, and supports professional development through training, webinars, career listings, and networking programs. It also recognizes contributions through awards, lectures, and student travel support.

The American Journal of Human Biology is HBA’s official journal, published online by John Wiley & Sons. Its annual supplement provides free access to the program and abstracts from the Association’s annual meeting.
