About Humboldt Bay Marathon
Humboldt Bay Marathon is a nonprofit affiliate of the Road Runners Club of America, dedicated to promoting fitness, outdoor recreation, and trails in Humboldt County, California. Its annual race event welcomes runners seeking a personal record as well as those drawn to the area’s distinctive scenery. The program includes a full marathon, half marathon, 5K, and Beer Mile, with races starting and finishing at Madaket Plaza in Eureka.
Participants can find event schedules, course information, results, and race photographs through the organization’s website. Humboldt Bay Marathon also offers opportunities for adults and students to volunteer, with student volunteers receiving a certificate recognizing their service hours. The event features custom shirt and medal artwork commissioned from local artist and runner Sara Starr, celebrating landscapes along the route, including redwood forest paths, Arcata Community Forest, and Old Town Eureka.
