Hummingbird Centre for Hope is a community of hope dedicated to supporting young widowed parents and their families. We understand the unique hardships faced by young parents who have lost their spouses and we strive to provide ongoing support in all areas of their grief. Our mission is to empower widowed parents to discover a new sense of self through peer-based learning, while our vision is to build a community of hope for those who are widowed with children.
At Hummingbird Centre for Hope, we believe in the power of shared experiences and offer peer support as a foundation for understanding grief. We also value education, recognizing that knowledge guides the widowed journey. Our compassionate team companions widowed parents with empathy and authenticity in a nurturing environment of hope.
We believe in the strength of the human spirit and its ability to triumph over life's tragedies. The hummingbird symbolizes hope and resilience. Just like the hummingbird, grief is never a linear journey.
The bird's ability to fly in various directions reflects the complex nature of the grief process. Additionally, the hummingbird's long beak represents the exploration of inner beauty and finding positivity amidst bitterness. Located in Kitchener, Ontario, we welcome donations and volunteers to support our cause.
