About HUP
HUP is a brand that specializes in file systems and storage solutions for NAS (Network Attached Storage). They offer a range of products and services to meet the needs of individuals and businesses alike. One of their notable offerings is the ReiserFS file system, which has recently been declared obsolete.
Although it was once a popular choice, HUP now advises against its use due to new developments in the Linux kernel. Another file system to consider is Bcachefs, which offers advanced features like Copy on Write (COW), full data and metadata checksumming, replication, encryption, and more. While it has yet to be integrated into the mainline Linux kernel, it is currently stable and has a growing user community.
HUP also provides updates on various file systems and storage technologies, such as Ubuntu's decision to remove ZFS support from its desktop installer and improvements in the Btrfs scrub function with the upcoming Linux 6. 4 kernel. Overall, HUP is a reliable brand for those in need of file systems and storage solutions, offering products and services that keep up with the latest developments in the industry
