Hurdfyts Akademie is a welcoming cycling club based in Dokkum, serving riders across the North Friesland region. Its blue-and-pink peloton brings together men and women aged 16 to 65, from enthusiastic beginners to experienced cyclists. The club is open to people with different abilities and ambitions, with training adapted to each rider’s level. Its focus is on enjoying cycling together, building skills and fitness, and improving as a group—not simply being the fastest.
KNWU-trained coaches provide professional guidance, helping members develop their endurance, technique, speed, and safe, effective group-riding skills. From February through June, the club holds Saturday morning and afternoon sessions and Sunday morning rides. During summer, Tuesday and Thursday evening rides are also scheduled. In winter, members stay active on mountain bikes and gravel bikes.
Hurdfyts Akademie also offers cycling clinics in the Netherlands and abroad. Prospective members can join a training ride to experience the club’s atmosphere and see whether it suits them.
