Hůrky

Spolek pro Hůrky a venkov is a community association focused on rural life, local heritage and traditions in Hůrky and the surrounding region of South Bohemia. Through cultural projects and public events, it brings residents, former residents and visitors together while sharing the history and character of the countryside. Its activities include traditional celebrations such as the Svatohavelské posvícení and Svatojánská pouť, featuring regional products, music, food and opportunities to meet.

The association also prepares exhibitions, often in cooperation with cultural and archival institutions, presenting rural customs, historical tools, harvest traditions and local dress. Its projects include preserving and showcasing Blata folk costumes, exploring local traditions, and supporting creative community activities such as herbarium-making workshops. Members share knowledge of regional crafts, including traditional embroidery, and take part in events in nearby villages.
