Hvidborg

Børnecenter Hvidborg is a child and family support centre in Hvidovre, Denmark, focused on helping children and families build a better path forward. Its approach places the child at the centre while recognising family relationships and wider networks as essential partners in a child’s wellbeing and development. The centre brings together several coordinated services: Kilden, a residential institution for 12 children aged five to 14; Skolen på Hvidborg, an internal school for up to 20 children from reception class through seventh grade; Det Hvide Hus, a residential home for children aged five to 18; and FamilieFokus, which provides intensive, tailored family treatment.

Hvidborg also offers a contact house and family apartments. Across its services, the centre emphasises supportive relationships, structure, predictability and collaboration among staff, families and other professionals. Børnecenter Hvidborg is part of the national association LIVSVÆRK and operates under an agreement with Hvidovre Municipality pursuant to section 51 of Denmark’s Social Services Act.
