HWA

HWA, formerly known as the Handicaps Welfare Association, has supported persons with disabilities and older people since 1969. Guided by its aim to impact lives and bridge communities, the organisation provides care and practical support that help people live with dignity and independence, while promoting a kinder, more inclusive society.

Its services include wheelchair-accessible transport, rehabilitation and senior day care, home care, and social services. HWA also offers membership and invites people to take part in its campaigns and volunteer activities. Through its Social Service Department, it helps clients secure support from the Assistive Technology Fund. The organisation’s rehabilitation centres provide services for clients, while its home care and transport teams support people in their daily lives.

HWA raises funds through initiatives such as its charity lunch, festive appeal, flag day, and all-cash donation draw. Individuals and organisations can contribute by donating, sponsoring services, or volunteering. HWA also shares news, updates, and publications to keep its community informed about its work and fundraising efforts.
