High Wide & Heavy Outfitters is a family-owned, archery-only whitetail hunting destination near Whitewright, Texas, about an hour northeast of Dallas–Fort Worth. Family-operated since 2010, the outfit is run by Greg and Cole and welcomes hunters seeking a focused North Texas bowhunting experience. Its MLD-managed preserve features food plots, wooded areas, open fields, water holes, and ponds, with specialty blinds designed for comfortable sits and clear shot opportunities.
The outfitter offers six three-day hunt packages, ranging from management-class bucks to trophy categories up to 220 inches and beyond. The highest-tier package lets hunters select a deer from the preserve’s trail-camera library. Guests bring a Texas hunting license; the preserve provides its own tags.
Food and lodging are included, with a four-bedroom lodge, home-style breakfasts and dinners, WiFi, satellite TV, and archery targets for practice. Coffee, soft drinks, bottled water, and a self-serve cocktail bar are also available. High Wide & Heavy emphasizes personal, family-run service and the challenge and tradition of hunting with a bow.
