Hymers Fair is a traditional country fair hosted by the Hymers Agricultural Society in the village of Hymers, near Thunder Bay, Ontario. Established in 1912, the fair brings the community together each Labour Day weekend to celebrate country life through exhibits, entertainment, markets, food, and friendly competition. Its program includes horse and cattle shows, demonstrations, contests, children’s activities, and opportunities for local vendors.
Visitors can browse prize-list classes and exhibits, watch performances, enjoy music, and sample fair food. The society also offers online class entry and vendor packages for those wishing to participate. The 2026 fair is scheduled for September 6 and 7, with admission prices available for general visitors, seniors, and children; children may also enter for a reduced price with a zucchini or sunflower.
Beyond the annual event, Hymers Fair shares activities and updates through social media. Community members can support the organization by volunteering, sponsoring, or becoming members
