Freenet is a brand that offers free software designed to ensure online freedom and protect user privacy. With Freenet, users can securely share files, browse and publish on freesites (web pages accessible only through Freenet), and engage in forum discussions without the fear of censorship. What sets Freenet apart is its decentralized nature, making it less vulnerable to attacks.

In darknet mode, where users connect only with trusted friends, Freenet becomes incredibly difficult to detect. Communications within the network are encrypted and routed through multiple nodes, ensuring the anonymity of users and making it challenging to track information requests. Users contribute to the network by sharing their bandwidth and providing storage space for files.

Freenet has been downloaded over 2 million times worldwide and has played a crucial role in sharing censored information. It has even inspired academic papers in fields like law and philosophy. Freenet's innovative darknet feature allows users to connect globally while reducing vulnerability and bypassing government restrictions, making it a powerful tool for freedom of information
