About HZCT
Hyderabad Zakat and Charitable Trust (HZCT) is a non-profit organization established in 1993 by Ghiasuddin Babukhan and other community members. Based in Hyderabad, India, it works to uplift and empower underprivileged communities through charitable programs and initiatives. The trust reports having donated more than Rs. 60 crore since its founding and invites the public to contribute, volunteer, and help raise awareness.
HZCT’s work spans education, food assistance, disaster relief, and family support. Its scholarship program provides financial assistance to orphaned, meritorious, and otherwise deserving students, from early schooling through postgraduate and professional studies. The Feeding the Poor Project distributes food-grain kits to schools, widows, and low-income families in remote villages, alongside clothing support for widows and orphans. The trust also provides relief and rehabilitation for people affected by disasters and the COVID-19 pandemic, and offers marriage assistance to orphan girls and young widows.
Additional initiatives include bore wells, healthcare centers, vocational craft training, civil-service exam coaching, support for young widows, and Sadaqa.
