About IACOOS
The Environmental Protection Information and Analytical Center (IACOOS) is a state-owned enterprise under the Ministry of Ecology and Natural Resources of the Republic of Kazakhstan. It supports environmental decision-making by collecting, processing, and analyzing information about the country’s environment and natural resources. Its work includes providing information and analytical support for environmental monitoring, maintaining the State Fund of Environmental Information, and operating the digital National Data Bank on the State of the Environment and Natural Resources of Kazakhstan.
IACOOS publishes environmental reports, analytical materials, and information resources, and provides public access to environmental data through its online portal and data systems. The portal also features updates on environmental conditions in Astana, with links to the National Data Bank and the State Fund. The organization supports public engagement through information about public hearings and the Aarhus Convention, and offers educational seminars and international cooperation. Its website provides news, information about the enterprise, and an AI assistant for environmental questions.
