About IAIS
The International Association of Insurance Supervisors (IAIS), established in 1994, is a voluntary membership organization representing insurance supervisors and regulators from over 200 jurisdictions, accounting for 97% of global insurance premiums. As the leading global standard-setting body, the IAIS focuses on developing principles, standards, and guidance to enhance the supervision of the insurance sector.
The IAIS offers a comprehensive range of services, including the creation of the Insurance Core Principles (ICPs) and ComFrame, which facilitate effective supervision of internationally active insurance groups. Its Insurance Capital Standard (ICS) aims to ensure a solid capital structure within these entities.
