About IanParryGrant
IanParryGrant is a tribute to the remarkable life of photojournalist Ian Parry, who tragically lost his life at just 24 while covering the Romanian revolution in 1989. Established in his memory, the Ian Parry Memorial Fund is a charitable organization dedicated to supporting aspiring photojournalists, ensuring that Ian’s legacy lives on through new generations of talented individuals. The fund, operational for over 30 years, has provided vital resources and opportunities for hundreds of young photographers, fostering their passion for storytelling through the lens.
By offering grants and mentorship, IanParryGrant aims to nurture the skills and careers of those who share Ian's commitment to compassionate and impactful photojournalism. The initiative both honors Ian's spirit and promotes the art of capturing real-life narratives in an increasingly visual world. Through their efforts, the fund continues to inspire, educating and empowering future photojournalists to pursue their dreams and make meaningful contributions to the field
