The International Business Aviation Council (IBAC) is a non-profit international trade association representing the business aviation industry. Founded in 1981, it works to promote the growth of business aviation across industry sectors and regions worldwide. Its mission is reflected in the phrase “For the Industry, By the Industry.” IBAC represents industry interests through worldwide advocacy and its official observer status at the International Civil Aviation Organization (ICAO). The organization is managed by a Director General and international staff, and guided by a Governing Board whose representatives are designated by its 14 member associations.

IBAC also supports globally recognized voluntary safety standards. Its programmes include the International Standard for Business Aircraft Operations (IS-BAO) and the International Standard for Business Aviation Handlers (IS-BAH), with guidance, support, workshops, training and auditor resources. Other offerings include the CORE crew card, available for purchase or renewal, and access to ID90 benefits. IBAC’s resources also address sustainability, including climate change commitments, a carbon calculator, and a sustainable aviation fuel map.
