About us IBA Japan is the trade association for foreign banks and securities firms and associated businesses in Japan. Our aim is to promote the interests of our members in the context of a successful Japanese financial services industry and strong, efficient markets. We are a member led association. Set up over 35 years ago, we are a highly respected voice for the international financial services community to the Japanese authorities, the domestic financial services industry and other important stakeholders. We provide forums for information exchange on issues and leading industry practice and host learning events for our members. We engage in market promotion activities. We engage with the authorities and other key stakeholders to make them aware of our members views and we do advocacy work in response to changes in the legal and regulatory environment in Japan, or changes in overseas regulations that are extraterritorial in their impact. We collaborate with other organizations whose interests are aligned with our own. IBA Japan has six broad focus thematic areas. 1. Risk, Finance, Regulation, Tax, Economy. 2. Tokyo Global Financial City. 3. Technology. 4. Workstyle Reform. (Includes D&I). 5. Sustainable Development. (Financial Services). 6. Developing Japan. We offer a wide range of member services which allow members to expand their professional knowledge and skills and help navigate the ever-changing needs of our industry.
