About IBANZ
IBANZ, the Insurance Brokers Association of New Zealand Inc., is the leading professional body in New Zealand representing fire and general insurance brokers, risk managers, and consumers. As the voice of the industry, IBANZ provides expert advice and guidance on insurance matters to its members, government agencies, consumer groups, and other stakeholders. With over 100 member firms in the non-life insurance market, IBANZ plays a vital role in maintaining and raising industry standards.
Its members employ around 5,000 staff, with approximately 2,500 financial advisers. These advisers assist in placing general insurance cover for over 1 million New Zealand customers, which accounts for around 50% of all general insurance premiums totaling $3. 5 billion.
