ASICI, the Interprofessional Association of the Iberian Pig, is a nonprofit organization representing both livestock producers and processors on an equal basis. Based in Zafra, Spain, it works to support and promote the Iberian pork sector, connecting farmers and industry while highlighting the heritage and quality of Iberian products, including Iberian ham.

The association’s work spans sector information, traceability and quality, promotion, and research, development and innovation. Its ÍTACA platform provides strategic digital services for the sector, including sector data and analytics and management of the IBAW animal welfare regulation. ASICI also promotes the Iberian pig and its food culture through campaigns, professional training, media events and international outreach. Recent activities have included promotional initiatives in Japan, China and the United Kingdom, as well as recognition of high-performing Iberian farms through the Porc d’Or award for Iberian excellence. Through these activities, ASICI supports visibility, quality initiatives and collaboration across the Iberian pork value chain, while sharing information and resources with producers, processors and the wider public.
