IBsquare

IBsquare is an interuniversity institute of bioinformatics located in Brussels. It serves as a collaborative research environment for research groups in and around Brussels that require expertise in bioinformatics and computational biology. The institute is situated on the La Plaine campus of the Université Libre de Bruxelles and is open to experts from different fields to tackle various medical problems.

The mission of IBsquare is threefold: to harness and scale bioinformatics expertise, provide infrastructure for interdisciplinary research collaborations, and reach scientific excellence through training, education, innovation, and collaborations. The institute offers a physical location for research, meetings, collaborations, and seminars, as well as high-performance computer facilities. Research at IBsquare covers a wide range of domains including machine learning, structural bioinformatics, genomics, epigenetics, evolutionary dynamics, oligogenic diseases, pathogenicity prediction, systems biology, and big data analysis.

With ongoing projects and numerous publications, IBsquare has been making significant contributions to the field since its establishment. They also organize monthly seminars with prominent speakers to promote scientific collaboration and dissemination. IBsquare welcomes partnerships with academic, public organizations, and companies interested in bioinformatics research
