ICIJ

The Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice (ICIJ) is a dynamic and influential coalition of over 35 organizations that are dedicated to serving the immigrant community in the Inland Empire. The coalition focuses on advocacy, changing the narrative, and capacity building to improve the lives of immigrant communities. They engage in policy advocacy, community organizing, education, and rapid response to ICE and border patrol operations.

The ICIJ is committed to changing the narrative around the one million immigrants who live, thrive, and contribute to the fabric of the IE. The coalition also provides resources such as training, technical support, and grants to their partners in the region. Their mission is to convene organizations and work collectively to advocate for immigrant justice and improve the lives of immigrants.

They envision a region and state where immigrants' contributions are respected and create a more prosperous community for everyone. Throughout their history, the ICIJ has been instrumental in advocating for immigrant rights and achieving major victories, including the passage of the California Trust Act, supporting immigrant youth in their fight for DACA, and advocating for Driver Licenses for All. They have grown in strength and prominence and have become an engine for justice and change in the Inland Region and California.

The Inland Coalition for Immigrant Justice is led by a dedicated team, including Javier Hernandez, Executive Director, Luis Cabrales, Deputy Director, Lizbeth (Castillejos) Abeln, Deportation Defense Director, and Lyzzeth Mendoza, Economic Justice Organizing Director. Each member of the team brings a wealth of experience, passion, and dedication to fighting for immigrant rights and ensuring justice for immigrant communities. The ICIJ is a beacon of hope and support for immigrants in the Inland Empire, working tirelessly to create a more just and inclusive society
