The International Centre for Antimicrobial Resistance Solutions (ICARS) is a pioneering organization dedicated to combatting the threat of antimicrobial resistance (AMR) globally. ICARS was initially developed by the Danish government and in November 2021, it became an independent and self-governing organization. ICARS aims to bring together countries, foundations, and organizations to fulfill its mission of addressing AMR on an international scale.

The strategic direction of ICARS is determined by the international Board of Directors, which is the supreme governing body of the organization. The Board appoints executive staff, including the Executive Director, who lead the organization's overall development. The Executive Management team, consisting of the Executive Director, Director of Operations, and Scientific Director, plays a crucial role in guiding ICARS towards achieving its goals.

Additionally, ICARS has a dedicated staff and a Technical Advisory Forum to support its initiatives. By leveraging its expertise and collaborative partnerships, ICARS works on projects, shares resources, and implements strategies to combat AMR. Together, with its global network of partners, ICARS is actively working towards a future where antimicrobial resistance is effectively addressed, ensuring the continued effectiveness of antimicrobial treatments
