ICGC ARGO

ICGC ARGO is a global cancer research initiative and a new phase of the International Cancer Genome Consortium. Its mission is to translate genomic knowledge into approaches that improve outcomes for people affected by cancer and help reduce the global burden of cancer. The project coordinates international programs to analyze cancer specimens alongside high-quality clinical data, with a stated goal of studying 100,000 patients and addressing important questions in cancer research.

ICGC ARGO provides a data platform for submitting, curating, accessing, and sharing cancer research information. Researchers can browse clinical and molecular data, including data analyzed against the GRCh38 reference genome, and eligible users can apply for access to controlled data. The initiative also offers policies, guidelines, and resources covering data access, governance, ethics, security, research use, and patient engagement.

Its network includes cancer genome projects across multiple regions and countries, supported by working groups focused on clinical data, data coordination, ethics, pathology, and public involvement. ICGC ARGO shares scientific news, workshops, program updates, and resources for researchers and patients.
