About Institute of Organic Chemistry
The Institute of Organic Chemistry of the Polish Academy of Sciences (IChO PAN) is a leading scientific institution specializing in organic chemistry research. Established in 1964, it has since become a prominent institute in the field, focusing on areas such as organic synthesis methodology, catalysis, and reaction mechanisms. The institute is actively involved in the development of porphyrin chemistry, supramolecular chemistry, and computer-aided organic synthesis using the acclaimed program CHEMATICA, recognized by Chemistry World as one of the top 10 discoveries in 2019.
IChO PAN is authorized to confer doctoral and habilitation degrees in chemistry. Currently, the institute boasts 135 scientific staff members, including 14 professors, and has 45 doctoral candidates.
