The Instituto Chileno de Trabajo Social Clínico (IChTSC) is a broad social project that aims to contribute to a great mission within our country: enhancing the subjective well-being of individuals, families, groups, and communities, while also developing qualified clinical social work practice. We also strive to collaborate in the development of mental health services and psychosocial settings, both in Chile and across Latin America and other countries in need of our expertise, skills, and knowledge. Currently, the IChTSC is an institutional member of the International Association of Schools of Social Work (IASSW).

We are a non-profit society of professionals dedicated to developing qualified knowledge and practices in social workers and other mental health professionals in order to contribute to different work settings related to clinical praxis. Our project is conceived as a professional community that aims to contribute to the social reality of the country and its people, institutions, and collectives.

The IChTSC offers various services such as training, webinars, advanced training, diplomas, and an international postgraduate program in trauma. Our services are designed to equip professionals with the necessary tools to address the complexities of clinical social work.

Founded on a postgraduate and clinically supervised training process, clinical social work integrates social work methods with therapeutic purposes from a broad theoretical and epistemological framework. The main functions and services of clinical social workers focus on comprehensive evaluations, systematization, supervision, clinical research, and advising. It entails the application of different therapeutic practices, including individual, family, group, and collective modalities. Other clinical practices within the field of clinical social work include counseling, social pedagogy in mental health liberation, crisis intervention, case advocacy, mediation, therapeutic home visits, and community development, among others.
