About Iconify
Vjacheslav Trushkin is the brilliant mind behind the Iconify project. As a freelance developer from Estonia, he created Iconify as an experiment in 2016, with the goal of offering an alternative to icon fonts. Iconify provides a vast selection of icons without the need to embed all of them.
The project started gaining momentum in 2020 and has become a full-time endeavor. Iconify's purpose is to empower developers by giving them the freedom to choose icons. Unlike traditional icon sets or fonts that often result in vendor lock-in, Iconify breaks free from this constraint by offering a wide range of icon sets and icons to choose from.
It also allows for easy integration of custom icons or icon sets. Iconify is an open-source project, although some parts are still in the process of becoming fully open-sourced. The goal is to complete this transition by the end of 2022.
While the original plan was to monetize the project through premium icon sets, the new approach is to rely on sponsorships to support development. If you benefit from Iconify, consider sponsoring the project to ensure its future growth. To learn more or get in touch with Vjacheslav Trushkin, you can find him on Twitter, Fosstodon, or LinkedIn
