ICRPaedia

ICRPædia is an educational information resource created by members of the International Commission on Radiological Protection (ICRP). It introduces the System of Radiological Protection, the framework that underpins standards, regulations, and professional practice worldwide to protect patients, workers, the public, and the environment from ionising radiation. The site is designed to help readers learn about this field and explore its key topics.

Visitors can begin with ICRPædia’s topic guides, which bring together short modules offering a high-level introduction to subjects in radiological protection. The resource also includes a growing collection of reference pages, such as the ICRP Glossary, and coverage of topics including cosmic radiation in aviation and radon. A guide to radiological protection in healthcare is among its featured learning materials. New pages are added over time, and the site encourages readers to return for updates. For definitive access to ICRP recommendations and guidance, ICRPædia points readers to the dedicated journal Annals of the ICRP. It serves as an accessible starting point for understanding radiological protection.
