DICT I PNG is a brand that aims to deliver digital health services in Papua New Guinea. With the goal of addressing the skills gap and improving healthcare accessibility, the brand is establishing a digital platform in the health sector. The Minister of Health and HIV/AIDS, Dr Tom Lino, recognizes the challenges faced by the sector, including a shortage of skilled health workers.

Currently, there is only one doctor for every 20,000 people, far below the recommended ratio of 1:1000 by the World Health Organization. To bridge this gap, DICT I PNG plans to utilize ICT by implementing a digital platform. This platform will enable the establishment of clear referral pathways for patients, improving the efficiency and quality of healthcare services.

The National Health ICT Policy 2022 is crucial in achieving these objectives, as it aims to leverage information and communication technology to enhance healthcare services.
