About ICT Teachers Association of Uganda
ICT Teachers Association of Uganda (ITAU) is a network of ICT teachers across all levels of education in Uganda. The association aims to promote ICT literacy and integration in education and other areas of daily life. ITAU was formed in 2017 to build a supportive network of ICT teachers, share resources, and continue the retooling program organized by the Uganda Communications Commission.
The association holds capacity development workshops, AGMs, and elections to ensure the continuous growth and development of ICT teachers. ITAU also operates a SACCO to facilitate financial services for its members. The association's mission is to unite, organize, and empower teachers to share, innovate, and advocate for ICT integration in education.
Their vision is to empower ICT teachers to impart relevant skills to learners and support other teachers in effectively using ICT in teaching and learning. With the motto Together against Computer Illiteracy, ITAU works toward bridging the digital divide and promoting excellence and professionalism among ICT teachers
