IDA Freunde

IDA & Freunde e.V. is a nonprofit association in Neustrelitz, Germany, supporting people with and without disabilities and their families. Its mission is to provide personal and professional assistance, along with inclusive places where people can develop according to their abilities and wishes. The association offers several housing options, including residential homes, shared living and support in a person’s own household. At the Neustrelitz workshops, people with and without disabilities work across five locations, with tasks adapted to individual abilities. The Lichtung day group supports people with mental health conditions through structured activities, conversations, therapy services and help with administrative or medical matters.

IDA & Freunde also runs Kita Knirpsenland, a kindergarten focused on children’s learning, development, tolerance and community. Its Schlossgärtnerei sells seeds, plants, soil and gardening equipment, while the Tiergartengaststätte serves hearty regional food and offers catering. The association’s kitchen combines learning and shared cooking. Across its services and enterprises, IDA & Freunde promotes participation, community and quality of life, with people at the centre as both customers and employees.
