The Ida Bell Foundation is a registered 501(c)(3) nonprofit organization honoring the legacy of Ida Bell Lewis by expanding access to Allied Health education and careers. It supports underserved individuals through scholarships, practical resources, and guidance, with the goal of removing financial, personal, and logistical barriers and strengthening communities.
The foundation funds certification training in four healthcare fields: phlebotomy, EKG technology, medical assisting, and pharmacy technology. Programs range from eight to sixteen weeks. Eligible scholarship recipients may receive full funding for their chosen certification program, along with support such as free childcare, transportation assistance, and laptops. The foundation also offers ongoing mentorship, résumé preparation, and professional development guidance to help recipients progress from application through career launch. Its work includes collaboration with Gifted Hands Academy to connect learners with training and resources for the healthcare workforce.
Individuals can apply for scholarships, while donors and community supporters can contribute to funding education and support services.
