About ILDA
ILDA, the Latin American Initiative for Open Data, was founded in 2012 with a mission to explore the effects of datafication in Latin America. As an autonomous and agile organization, ILDA generates dialogues with multiple sectors, focusing on governance, transparency, inclusion, and the use of emerging technologies. ILDA aims to contribute to more just and equitable public policies, democratize knowledge creatively, and provide regional knowledge on a global scale.
Guided by its values and principles, ILDA promotes transparency, independence, participation, and inclusivity. They believe in the value of data and advocate for open access to public data in various formats to build evidence that benefits society. With a diverse and inclusive team, ILDA collaborates with public sector communities and civil society to solve regional challenges.
They offer research, coordination, and support functions to promote inclusive data-driven development in Latin America. ILDA's work is shared annually through reports, and they are funded by various organizations and projects that share their vision. With a legal address in Uruguay, ILDA is committed to making a positive impact and shaping a more inclusive and transparent future in Latin America
