The Institute for Development and Diplomacy (IDD) was founded by ADA University in 2022 to establish deeper engagement and outreach with expert, research, and policymaking communities globally, including Azerbaijan and the Silk Road region. Modeled on leading research institutions, IDD serves as a hub for policy-oriented research and analysis, hosting high-level conferences, briefings, and workshops. Offering high-quality research and excellence in teaching, IDD focuses on capacity building and expertise.

Its vision is to become a regional leader in public policy research, analysis, and international outreach, while its mission is to navigate complex global challenges. IDD covers a wide range of topics including foreign policy, diplomacy, geopolitics, security, energy, sustainable development, gender, and peace and reconciliation issues. IDD provides a platform for open dialogue, publishes independent research, hosts executive education programs, and organizes conferences and policy briefings.
