IDEA Services is New Zealand’s largest provider of services for people with intellectual disabilities and their families and whānau. The organisation supports adults of all ages to enjoy meaningful lives as part of their communities, with services available throughout New Zealand. Its approach is guided by empowerment, inclusion, responsiveness and support, recognising that each person’s plan is unique. Support can help people build connections, pursue the life they want, develop independence, set goals and work towards achieving them.

Services include Supported Living, residential living with support, activities and opportunities through Things to Do, Healthy Ageing and Specialist Services. IDEA Services also provides quality and clinical support and helps people and families understand how to access assistance. The organisation is government-funded and operates in communities across the country. People generally begin by seeking an assessment through their regional Needs Assessment and Service Coordination service (NASC) or an Enabling Good Lives connector. Once assessed, they can contact a local IDEA Services office to discuss suitable support.
