About Ideas for India
Ideas for India (I4I) is an economics and policy portal that aims to change the way economic evidence filters into policy debates. It serves as a platform for economists, social scientists, and practitioners to share their research and experience to weigh in on key policy issues of growth and development in India. I4I is designed to be accessible and inclusive to a wide audience, including policymakers, academics, researchers, civil society organizations, media, industry, and non-specialists interested in development and growth policy issues.
With a focus on evidence-based analysis and commentary, I4I publishes content under twelve broad topics, including Agriculture, Macroeconomics, Human Development, Social Identity, Governance, Poverty & Inequality, Environment, Money & Finance, Productivity & Innovation, Urbanization, Trade, and Miscellany. The portal offers various content types such as research-based articles, opinion-based posts, experience-based 'notes from the field', e-symposia/debates, explainers, podcasts, and videos. Established in 2012 by a group of economists from the International Growth Centre (IGC) at the London School of Economics and University of Oxford, I4I provides a neutral space for informed discussions and analysis.
The views expressed in the posts reflect those of the authors and do not necessarily represent the I4I Editorial Board. Stay updated with their Monthly Newsletter and topic-specific email alerts to engage in the dynamic conversations surrounding India's growth and development
