I Define Lupus

I Define Lupus is an awareness and support organization dedicated to educating and inspiring people living with lupus, their families, and the wider community. Founded around the message “I define Lupus, Lupus doesn’t define me,” the organization honors Winsome Bailey and Susan Franklin while helping make lupus more visible. It shares information about lupus, an inflammatory disease in which the immune system attacks the body’s own tissues, and encourages involvement during May, Lupus Awareness Month.

I Define Lupus builds community through awareness campaigns, advocacy, and events, while fundraising to support people who need financial assistance and contribute to lupus research. The organization also features scholarships and branded merchandise, providing ways to participate in and support its movement. Through education, fundraising, and community engagement, I Define Lupus aims to help lupus warriors and their loved ones feel informed and supported, while encouraging more people to understand the condition and help advance research and support services.
