Identity.Education

Identity.Education is a community-focused organization supporting and representing LGBTQIA+ people in western Romania, with a strong connection to Timișoara. Its mission is to promote the community through art, culture and education, and to make its needs more formally visible. The organization works toward a society in which LGBTQIA+ people are included, with responsive institutions, safe spaces, language that reflects diversity beyond the gender binary, and legislation that considers community needs.

Identity.Education organizes cultural and artistic events that bring LGBTQIA+ people and the wider Timișoara community closer together, creating opportunities to share diverse queer stories and build understanding with allies. Its education work includes meaningful projects designed by and for the regional LGBTQIA+ community, alongside collaboration with public, private and civil-sector stakeholders. The organization also creates local spaces for belonging and safety, hosting events and discussions as well as providing places where people can feel understood and secure.

Through these activities, Identity.Education uses culture, learning and community work to encourage dialogue, representation and connection.
