IDIBAPS

IDIBAPS is a biomedical research institute dedicated to pursuing scientific excellence to improve people’s health. Its work spans a broad range of research programmes and areas, bringing together 101 research groups and more than 2,800 professionals. The institute supports research through seven scientific platforms: a biobank, medical statistics, magnetic resonance imaging, cytometry and cell sorting, functional genomics, a clinical trials unit, and scientific computing. These shared resources help researchers conduct studies and advance biomedical knowledge.

Alongside research, IDIBAPS offers professional and academic opportunities, including jobs, doctoral research and training for healthcare professionals. It also organizes seminars, scientific activities and public events, and shares news about its research and institutional initiatives. The institute reports more than 1,500 original articles published each year, over 930 active competitive projects, around 25 seminars annually and approximately 100 doctoral theses per year. Through its research, scientific infrastructure and development opportunities, IDIBAPS contributes to the advancement of medicine and the improvement of health.
